Radon Mitigation Installer / Technician

Location: Lansing, MI (and surrounding Tri-County area)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $45,000 – $65,000 per year (Commensurate with experience)

About the Role

Are you looking for a career where your mechanical skills actually save lives? We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Radon Mitigation Installer to join our Lansing-based team. You will be responsible for the full installation of sub-slab depressurization systems in residential and commercial properties to reduce harmful radon gas levels.
This is a physical, rewarding role that combines elements of HVAC, plumbing, and light construction. If you enjoy problem-solving and working with your hands, we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities

System Installation: Layout and install PVC piping, radon fans, and venting systems according to EPA and ANSI/AARST standards.
Structural Prep: Use hammer drills to create suction pits in concrete slabs and seal cracks/sump pits to ensure airtight systems.
Diagnostics: Perform “pressure field extension” tests to ensure the system is pulling air correctly from under the foundation.
Customer Education: Explain system operation to homeowners and provide post-installation testing instructions.
Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean job site and ensure all work meets local Michigan building codes.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: 1–2 years in construction, HVAC, plumbing, or waterproofing preferred (We will train the right candidate).
Physical Ability: Must be comfortable in crawlspaces, attics, and on ladders/roofs. Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with power tools (drills, reciprocating saws) and PVC solvent welding.
Certification: NRPP or NRSB certification is a major plus. (If not certified, must be willing to obtain certification within 6 months of hire—company-sponsored).
Background: Valid Michigan Driver’s License with a clean record is required.
